Ever dreamed of winning the lottery? I’m sure you have, but you probably wouldn’t ever imagine winning it four times, which is what happened for a resident of the small town Bishop in Texas. Joan Ginther, a former math professor at University of Texas, San Antonio, has won the lottery four times in the past 17 years. Ginther is regarded by the few who know her as a chronic lottery enthusiast, playing faithfully for as long as anyone can remember. Friends and family remark that she has “bought her fair share of lottery tickets, and not just for herself”.

As mentioned, Joan Ginther is a woman who enjoys her privacy, and as such it is rare for her to ever comment on her extreme luck. This leads many to question her, how does she get so lucky? Is it really just luck from her lifetime of playing the odds, or does she perhaps have a technique that she’s been using?
